USB Mic, even with sound card?

I think i'm buying:


But i do have a xtreme gamer xfi gaming sound card, would

be better, since it's analogue, or not necessarily? I am not super impressed w/ the sound of my current mic, i duno if its the mic or the sound card, but i'm leaning towards the USB mic.

Thoughts?

USB mics are fine. I've found that a lot of desktop microphones are rather quiet and don't pick up nearly as much as a USB one that's actually powered. I just use the one on my Logitech webcam.

All mics are analogue (I know what you meant, I'm being pedantic)

I use the USB one you linked and it's fine, no one has ever complained of not being able to hear me properly. The only difference between using analogue or USB is the device which handles the analogue (voice) to digital conversion, in the case of a USB mic, it will do it onboard and an analogue mic will be converted by the soundcard. As it's only for voice it won't really matter, the difference probably isn't audible because of compression over VOIP etc.

Go for whichever is easiest/cheapest/you like the look of because the end result is going to be the same.
