how to turn off touch pad in windows 7

Thread Starter
Ive upgraded my Dell 1720 to windows 7, however the touchpad is extra sensitive. I looked in the mouse section and couldnt find where to change the settings for the touch pad. I still want to use the touchpad just tone it down and disable double tap to where youd have to use the buttons.

On Vista, there is a tray icon indicating whether or not I am touching the touch pad. When I double click that, a menu pops up with all the possible configurations for it. It's called Synaptics Pointing Device. Maybe there is a separate program for the touch pad?
