1055t - upgrade mobo?

Thread Starter
Hi,

Currently have my 1055t paired with a Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H matx board, which is a 760G / SB710 chipset. I'm currently wondering whether it would be worth upgrading this to something like an Asus M4A88TD-M EVO matx board, which as I'm sure you know has a 880G / SB850 chipset. Would the upgrade be worth it? What would I be gaining? Opinions please!

Would definitely get a higher phase motherboard with some good VRM cooling. If you want to OC that hexcore.
kinda a dangerous combination you got there.

boards utilizing gigabytes older vrm design are not known to be particularly resilient, especially with X6's

could be fine though.

I'm not sure that a single generation advance of a chipset could make THAT much of a change. All in all, I wouldn't spend that much on a new board, especially knowing that there is going to be another one to come out. I don't think the price to performance will be gained if anything from what you currently have.
