My first wet build, opinions welcome/needed.

Finally will be ordering some of my parts this weekend for my build. I will be building a water cooled rig for normal college work and mostly gaming. I would like to play most of the games at higher settings with a great FPS rate. I will be cooling the CPU for now and adding GPU watercooling down the road and probably adding a 2nd card while in that process. Any helpful opinions will be considered!

CPU: i5 2500K

MotherBoard: ASUS P8P67 PRO

GPU: SAPPHIRE 100312SR Radeon HD 6950 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

Memory: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800

PSU: Corsair HX series 850W

HDDSamsung F3's

although I will be using a SSD for the OS Windows 7.

Cooling will be the EK supreme kit with GPU upgrades over summer. And this is going into a 800D case.

LOOKS OK! (imo)

You could probably get a way with a smaller PSU!

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:

Radeon HD 6950

On your average system the card requires you to have a 500 Watt power supply unit.
Radeon HD 6950 in CrossfireX

A second card requires you to add another ~160 Watts. You need a 650+ Watt power supply unit and if you use it in a high-end system a 800+ to a KiloWatt is recommended especially if you plan on any overclocking.
For each other card that you add, just add another 160 Watts and 15A on the 12V rails as a safety margin. What would happen if your PSU can't cope with the load? Here are some pointers:

bad 3D performance
crashing games
spontaneous reset or imminent shutdown of the PC
freezing during gameplay
PSU overload can cause it to break down

Corsair HX750 or TX750(One is modular & the other isn't) will do you fine with crossfire. But if you really want to get that 850w then get it, just to have more back up wattage in the long run.

very balanced setup,
but change the ram, dominators have 1.65v & sandy bridge setup favours 1.5v ram,
so get:
corsair vengeance 1866mhz ram
they will work better with sandy bridge,
for the gpu I suggest u to get:
msi hd6950 2gb twin frozIII power edition
Hope u like this

Any reason to get the MSI 6950 over what I chose? Sorry I'm kinda a noob and don't really understand everything in the full content of what is better then the other and why.

Looks like a Solid Build for me
every component will do you good for a good few years until you get the obsession to upgrade everything even if you dont need it, like me

Edit: Nevermind, didnt see the part with the 800D

Edit: As for the Graphics card, I suggest getting a reference one if you're planning on watercooling your GPU's in the future, not sure if im right, but i've read that it's rather hard to find waterblocks for non reference cards.. can get away with a universal block but im not really fond of those..

the msi gpu i suggested has a twin frozr3 design with propeller blade,it will run cooler than any other hd6950,
the msi card has higher pcb & will overclock better,
hope this helps u

good choice, but how much difference in price is the 2600k and 2500k? im sure its like 40 pound? might want to just get the 2600k you'd be better off, also psu good choice i say keep it at 850w for future upgrades, also might want to get better ram which is higher mhz and less gb? idk about watercooling is that a good one?

The 2500k and 2600k is a difference of $90 on newegg and the only difference in the i7 is that it can hyper-thread which I really don't need.
