GTX 460 problem?

Thread Starter
My wife is having problems with her GPU. At least, I think it's her GPU, or drivers for it, or something. She has a GTX 460, her motherboard is an Asus M48A7TD/USB3, CPU is AMD Phenom II X6 1055T, RAM is G. Skill 1600 2x2GB's.

Her problem is that sometimes her computer will freeze on windows welcome screen. It also plays fine for 10 minutes, but then it'll freeze, then go to a blank screen.

Any help with this would be great. Thanks, guys!

Could be overheating, not enough power, or simply a bad card. Can you report on temperatures during idle and load?

try flash new ASUS motherboard BIOS first and try again~

try setting the GPU frequency manually to 103 / 105 or 110 and see if that gets rid of the freezes.

You know, his was a common issue with the 400 series, I myself have had smiler issues and also own a 460. Check out the nvidia forums, it says something on the issue. also use the latest 270.xx beta drivers, they are great!
