-- i wanted to buy the new sandy bridge cpus, but i was waiting for the new ones coming out in 2012. and i badly needed a new desktop.

and for the 570. i was trying to future proof.
and yea i got worried if i overdid it.

bold: i have to agree..if you wanna enjoy the full GTX570 power you need to at least get to 1680x1050p resolutions..get a 20"-22" high Resolution LCD..

Take into account he may want to upgrade his monitor later on. Therefore having to get rid of the piss poor 460 768Mb, which we all know was pointless taking into account the 1024mb card being so much better Price/performance.

If there's no monitor upgrade in the future, drop the 460 768 and hunt down a 1024mb version, which will be easier to sell down the line, AND it's a card that has one of the best price/performance ratios we have seen in years due to it's redonkulous overclocking ability.

or stick with the 570 if you're going to get a bigger monitor that's running 19x10 or 19x12.

EDIT: Dude, even @16x9 that 570 will be overkill. My 470 runs sweet at 19x10 so the extra grunt of a 570 at a lower res is waste .

the 1366x768 was an old monitor i use a few years ago.
i still have a few cash left here.
so maybe id be gin for the 20inch 1600x900 led monitor

sadly i dont have enough to buy a 1080p monitor.

- what if i use the new 1600x900 monitor as main display
and also use the 1366x768 monitor for other stuff
maybe that could kill bottlenecking - if theres any.
or it'd be worse?

Why? Because I am telling him it's overkill? You sir are the troll for not telling him that.

Can't really future proof in computers, but okay. Get a quadcore though as BFBC2 and STALKER and the like will be bottlenecked alot.

there's no bottle-necking nor won't bottleneck..its just the gTX570's potency is halved because of the display you are using..

Hmm Interesting idea. The extra screen would be handy for Photoshoooop and the like.

Bottlenecking isn't as bad as you seem to think. It's only another way of saying " Wasted Horsepower" when it comes to lower resolutions. At the resolutions you'l be playing at, you'll see some bottlenecking, because of the immense power behind the 570, but all that means is you'll hit a brick wall of FPS in certain games where the CPU is holding the GPU back, because it's rendering a lower res therefore therefore having less WORK to do. By no means should you think you'l be sittng at 25FPS. Most of the time you'll be looking at solid 80+FPS all the time.

Depending on the game of course.

when you mean half.
how bad would the fps go down..
id say 30fps is really bad.. :O

even with 16:9 and all high?
hmm..

i hoped its only a few percentage..
like 50fps

it won't drop..the GTX570 would still be potent even with all ingame settings HIGH and eyecandy ON..the GTX570 can handle that resolution with ease..no need to panic..

on a 16x10 or 19x10 reso it's potential will shine more..because that's the reso this card was made for..
