ATI or Nvidia?????

Thread Starter
Hi everyone!
I know this is a damn difficult question to get an answer..... but still...

I wanted to go for a ATi [or i should say AMD] Radeon 5770 gpu for my computer...
It would be actually doing a little bit of everything so i thought of that.. But the Nvidia launched there 550 ti gtx card... with phys x and all that and it seems to be performing a little better than the 5770!

So which one should i go for???? AMD or Nvidia??? plz help!!!

Price factor is very important!!!! ps....

Thanks in advance!!! :-P

If price factor is very improtant what is your maxium amount to spend (taking into account Transportation costs)?

Also you should have posted this in the General Graphics area not Intel CPUs!

What he said.

If the 550 Ti is beating the 5770 at the same price then go for that..

I will always recommend best performing card in your price range regardless of manufacturer...

Sorry! I dont know how to start new threads in different areas... im still a learner on this site!!!

The 5770 and 550 ti are about the smae in performance but nvidia is clear winner in phys x... Also 550 ti is latest compared to 5770.. so probably better tessellation..

The main point is the price... 550 ti is about 2000 rupees or 45$ costlier
so is the 45$ difference is worth the price???

if price factor is important, then go with a 5770, they're all good cards anyways, and when the two are compared in gaming or everyday use, the difference might as well be 1 to 3 fps, which you can't see the difference anyways

Not worth $45 if you don't need physx, only a handful of games use physX. But Nvidia cards are good for folding as well.
