I have to say i prefer the look of everything maxed out, but i would much rather have good performance than great graphics.
I personally cant wait for GTA 5 as long as it is on the PC (It better be)
GTA IV ran fine maxed out. It was only when you modded the game to double the pixel count then down sized it again (to add resolution, fake AA to remove jaggies) that it slowed down to 15-25fps.
I thought it was a bit boring though, life less, the best one was GTA 3, the radio humour was actually funny, and I liked that they weren't real songs they were playing, the whole game was a laugh. GTA isn't a game you can take seriously, if you do, theres something wrong with your mind.WHERE WERE THE TANKS IN GTAIV?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
How can you have GTA without tanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Frankly, the console version looked terrible. Soooooooooo loooooooooow resulotion, how anyone could've played it on that is beyond me, a detailed world but you can't actually see anything, like walking around without your glasses on.
As for modifying cars, I presume you mean changing colours, bumpers that sort of thing? When they put features like that in games they always do it half arsed, better just to mod the game yourself.
