I can finally play Doom 2. Oh, the 580 I got was http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121429.

Plays everything like a champ, I figure in 6 months or more I'll buy another and sli them, I have the room in the mobo. I'll take some pictures and post them when I get my microsd card back from my friends.

But thanks for helping me guys, I'm very, very thankful. Awesomesauce.

Doom 2 from 1994 is serious business.

Well played sir, you colored over your what I assume is a legit cd key, this is by no means sarcasm. I can easily picture someone being happy and taking that screenshot and not even thinking of coloring over the key.

And grats on the 580, my future 560 Ti just went limp in my head, needs viagra, lol.

Yeah, I didn't even think about it when I took the ss. x_X

Also, my friend, one of the reasons I became interested in nvidia cards, has 2 560 ti in SLI, and I've played on his comp, it really destroys everything.

I do have a question about nvidia cards though, it's getting in the high 60's in temp when I play, I just played crysis 2 for an hour, and it went in the low 70's as well, is that good for 580's or bad?

I have a question about 2600k's though... mine is idling at the mid 30's, and when playing crysis 2 kinda goes into the high 40's, low 50's. That normal?

Yeah that's fine, considerably cool actually, the video I saw by Nvidia had SLI'd 580's playing Crysis 2 around 85c so you're obviously doing something right with your cooling. Also I'm assuming the cards were almost at full load so even at full load they were that low. You're fine, Theoretically even 100c is fine but once it hits 110 it will downclock itself to prevent a burnout and cooldown. But you shouldn't allow temps that high for a long period just so the hardware lasts longer.

You're fine, if your proc starts hitting above 60+ for more than a few minutes then there's a cooling issue.

If I use Prime95 and give my quad core a literal full load test for 30 minutes it doesn't go past 61c with stock cooling. But once again that's literal 100% of each core being taxed really hard with a heat test so obviously most other things being done by the proc are nowhere near that temp.
