V6 GT and P8P67 EVO

Hi fellas,

I've bought the Cooler Master V6 GT, and i'm interested in buying the Asus P8P67 EVO, but i've saw an image of the back of the mobo and it has some kind of backplate and i'm affraid if it may do contact with the included backplate of the V6 GT and cause some kind of problem.

Here's an image of the said backplate:

What do you guys think?

I say use a different cooler. The V6 GT killed two of my P8P67 Pro's and CoolerMaster told me to fill out a parts request form to get some free hard plastic washers that I "Could use with the backplate but it wasn't recommended."

Read the cooler warning in my sig.

The backplate of the motherboard isn't the issue it's the backplate of the V6 GT it contacts the solder points on the board.

Although if you believe CoolerMaster's crap behind support (I definately don't especially after not getting anyone on the phone for 3 days) the only 1555 motherboards affected are the ASUS P8P67 Pro and ASUS P8P67 Deluxe. "The ASUS P8P67 LE shouldn't have any problems it doesn't have the solder points like the ASUS P8P67 Proor ASUS P8P67 Deluxe. Why don't you buy one of those?"

I got an H60 from Newegg for 73 bucks I think it was they have the H50's for 63 after rebate though.

Exactly my point. I wouldn't use the V6 GT on principle now since they basically said Well buy a new different type of motherboard that'll fix the problem with our cooler not working with it.

I'd recommend one of the following.
http://www.directron.com/silverarrow.html
http://www.directron.com/nhd14.html
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...air-_-35181015
or the H50 I guess although I'm still not sure I trust Corsair Water Cooling.

Anyways hope that helps.

Also I hear you can't go wrong with a Venomous X or a CoolerMaster 212+ . I've personally used a CoolerMaster Hyper N520 which can be found in most CompUSA stores.
