Recommendations on new case

Thread Starter
Looking for a new case , just want something different.

I'll keep this simple

Requirements
  • Preferably black
  • Needs to be sub £100 or not much more
  • Painted interior
  • Window or something you can see through (mesh or something)
  • Cable management holes, preferably with rubber grommets

That's all I can think of for now.
Anything else is debatable (USB3 etc.)

Cases I've looked at (in order of preference)

Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced is one of the best mid-tower cases(for me the best), it has awesome features, excelect cable management, its cheap, u can get it with a side window panel, its very moddable and it looks really badass...the only thing it does not have that u require is the rubber grommets at its cable management holes...check it out..

Thanks for the suggestion, but do you know where to get rubber grommets from?

Actually my friend getting rubber grommets for any kind of case on the market is very very hard. Personally i didnt find anywhere selling any grommets even bigger so i could mod them to fit the cable management holes. One guy here was lucky enough to buy before some months some rubber grommets from corsair and after that they went out of production. Its quite a shame, if any company could make such products that would make any modders happy. But in conclusion, in my opinion those grommets are not a big deal at all and surely not a must when choosing for a case. Its just a small detail which in the end doesnt make any difference at all. You could try and look for some though. Good luck on that and tell me if u ever find some, will make me happy too! :-)

Might want to check out the NZXT Phantom in black if you're looking for something a little less boxy.

Good option, though slightly over budget and no window. Can be modded for the window fairly easily however (looks pretty good with it too).

More budget friendly cases that meet OP's criteria would be the NZXT Lexa S or Tempest Evo if he likes the looks of those.

Yeah, those are both solid options. he said his budget was £100 which is roughly equal to about $160. I picked up my phantom on sale from 139$ to 120$ on newegg so I'd say it's probably still in his budget.

As for the window mod, I've done it myself. Well, I cut the fan mounting brackets out and just left the mesh and I really like the look. It would just be a matter or cutting a piece of plexi at this point fo a window, but the mesh looks nice. It wasn't too difficult either, jsut slow and steady with a dremel and a lot of reinforced fiberglass wheels.
