Seasonic x750 for 570 SLI OC and 450 physX? - Page 3

the 450 would slow down the 570 in sli. only expect to fold with the 450. physx card for 570 in sli would be another 570 maybe a 560.

How expensive does the filler have to be? I might jump on the deal for my much less-demanding system.

so far it looks to have to be kinda expensive, I haven't found anything less than an 80$ 2TB HDD. That doesn't mean that that's the cheapest that would work just what works out of what I've tried, which was a couple of $1 screen cleaners that didn't work and then some $12 case fans that didn't work. I think I need to go ask the HDD section which one of these $80 2TB drives I should go for.

Seriously though I recognize I wouldn't need it, especially not anytime soon because right now just the one 570 maxes everything I play but the question comes more from the fact that if possible I would like to keep this PSU for 5+ years and in that time a rig like 570 SLI, 450, and 2500k all OC'd is a possibility so I wanted to know if the PSU would allow it. I think at this point though I would be happy if I could just get a consensus that the X750 will be plenty for SLI 570 and my 2500k to all reach their max OC's on air without having to worry about power limitations.
Well, if this isn't a matter of needs.... then get a 1200W PSU and be future proof!
Honestly, i just don't get why people uses the "this is OCN" thing, to justify ONLY the stuff they like, graphics cards this time, but on the other hand they're trying to get the smartest choice posible, PSU this time.

well... if you breakdown overclocking it means to buy something cheap and make it fast.....

I'm sorry if you take umbrage with my criteria for selecting a PSU, but I don't think it's a bad idea to make sure that a PSU I plan on using for 5+ years could handle SLI.

Thanks for your opinion?

Don't get me wrong please, your PSU selecting criteria is very good in my opinion, I was just pointing a very common "behavior", if i can call it this way, of many OCN members...

Alrighty well I just placed the order for the Seasonic X750 and WD Green 2TB for a total of $185 with 3 day shipping using this $25 off of $100 for new customers. I think I did pretty good.

X750 for 2 570's and your CPU, EZ. Adding the 450 may be too much. I would get the X850 in order to use all your cards at peak performance.

Good to hear the X750 should be make short work of SLI 570s cause I just bought it. and throughout the course of the thread I was informed that a 450 would not help SLI 570s with PhysX at all, so as far as I know the most load this PSU will ever see be two 570s with max air OC and a 2500k with max air OC. I only have one 570 now though.
