Right, slowly working my way into the watercooling stuff, mostly waiting til the next computer build. Just thought I'd write down what I'm thinking, and you can all approve/disapprove.

Picked up a secondhand XSPC Rasa 750 RX240 kit from eBay for $35 incl. shipping; and it's in excellent nick (opened up the block and cleaned it out, dried it, etc. for storage until I build properly).

Plan to cool an overclocked Ivy Bridge and a GTX570/580 with it, so I figure I'll need an additional radiator, thinking an RX360.

Since I'm at it, would the RX360 alone be adequate? Yes, both the RX240 and the RX360 will greatly improve cooling performance, but I thought I'd ask anyway (not sure if there will be room for two rads).

So with that, I was thinking that I'd have five fans in a push config. Thinking 5x Noctua NF-P12's.

Planning on getting opaque tubing, cause that'll better reproduce colour anyway.

Does this all sound appropriate? It's always nice to check I'm heading down the correct path when doing something new.

Sounds excellent.

Yes, one RX360 would suffice, an RX240 could handle Ivy and a 580 in push/pull, but overclocking headroom would be reduced.

There's not much I can help you with from that, you've got everything down pat.

Do a buildlog and PM me the link to it if you ever do get around to it, eh? Lookin' forward to it, I love orange tubing

I have one for you.

Referencing my sig rig:
I plan on adding this - http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10..._BZ-502A_.html (possibly changing out the fan for an AP-15)
and this - http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...product_id=555
because I want to throw some 6950s under water.

Opinions? Mind you my current setup is quite capable of holding sub 60C CPU temps on bad days. (2 80mm shrouded fans)

Hi! I'm new to WC systems and I really want to build me one
Has anyone dealt with car radiators? I don't want to spend lots of money on this, but i have lots of car radiators, tubes etc, I even have an electric 12v heater pump, dunno the liter/min performance yet though. Can i make something good with that?

Be careful with that aluminum rad, I would use a copper (or brass) rad and copper block or aluminum rad and aluminum block, but I wouldn't mix metals. A single 120mm rad can cool a single midrange card or CPU, but not plural...

Sure, car rads and specifically heater cores/oil coolers used to be all the rage before WC companies started making rads. It's notgoing to be as pretty but you can definitely make a solid setup out of a car rad. Just beware that car rads are probaly aluminum so you'll need to run an anticorrosion coolant mixture to avoid corrosion.

That's fine, just be careful of the block metals and you should be all set

I have two questions here:

1. Are Aquacomputer products any good since I wonder about their quality (not like EK fiasco)? I like the looks of their CPU waterblocks and pumps, but people don't seem to use them much here on OCN.

2. What would be a good CPU waterblock, pump, radiator, and reservoir for a custom WC kit (CPU + 1 GPU) if I chose not to go with the Rasa 750 RX360 kit? I did see this kit on eBay slightly cheap, but I wouldn't get support from XSPC.

AC blocks are great, no QC issues there. They can be a bit restrictive based on the design, but they are great quality blocks.

CPU - AC Kryos/Koolance CPU block
Pump- D5 (swiftech mcp655/Koolance 450)
Rad- Depends on fan speed. RX360 for low speed fans, HW Labs BI GTX for high speed or mid speed.
Res- Whatever you like the look of or one that fits your pump.
