SAS vs SATA?

Thread Starter
ive got close to no exp with SAS and i dont know much about it. what i do know is that it costs a lot more and it uses higher voltage so cables can be much longer. is there any other benefit to paying so much more?

Switch to SATA.

SAS is typically for enterprise servers with dozens of hard drives. There's no reason to use SAS in a normal PC, for the price it would be better to get an SSD.

Typically SAS drives are more server oriented, higher spindle speeds, larger cache. etc. They are also normally enterprise quality hardware.
