maybe its just my bestbuy. I work at one of the better bestbuys. 95% of our computer department(which i am part of) know what they're talking about and can help people out. same with geek squad. 90% of us hold a 2 yr degree and multiple certs. I am a+ net+ sec+ linux+ and CEH certified. i only work at BB part time. so before everyone on this site blows up about best buy being filled with idiots think again.
I'd love your best buy to swap with mine. Here we have a bunch of autistic 17 year olds as employees playing pokemon in the corner on their gameboys and yelling nonsense at anyone who asks for help. Game selection is ABYSMAL and prices start a $60 reguardless of the game and stay that way indefinaitly. Nothing is taken off the shelf unless it is simple bought and nothing is restocked until the shelf is entirely emptied. End result is a shelf with nothing but 5 different 10 year old games selling for 60 bucks on an otherwise empty shelf.
So yeah I think we have a right to bash on pretty much every BB in my area, likely every BB aside from the one you work at apparently.

I have been buying more and more from Steam, but I still enjoy browsing through the video games section at Best Buy as well.
See the thing is, at least around here, BB stock maybe 20 PC games. 10 of them are bargain bin games like "solitaire extreme" and "barney goes to space".
5 more are ancient and over priced... Diablo 1 in a fancy 5 foot long box with a little guide book that i assume pretty much says "kill things, wear best loot, don't forget portals, and go down to the next level" over and over for 50 pages.... for 50 bucks... yeah im dead serious, 50 bucks.
So that leaves you with a great selection of 5 games. All at launch price despite being like 2 years old and not particularly good games to begin with.
But I do know what you mean... the local BB USED to be fun to browse games at... Heck I picked up my favorite game of all time just on impulse there, but thats no longer the case.
