Recommendation for a 42-52" LCD

Thread Starter
Hey everyone,

I am planning to get my parents a LCD TV thats 42-52". Mostly looking for a 52" preferably. Spending limit is roughly 1100$. I'm not big on specific brands, just mostly looking for good and durable quality. Recommendations?

Yummy, that TV looks great! But I'll warn you... it's a good idea to buy in person because you can read reviews all day but in the end your opinion may be different than 90% of the people out there.

I was craving 120Hz and I went out of my way to get my 46" 120Hz but in all honesty I turn it off in alot of cases..

Im in england mate but personally i think you should go for a LED screen rather then standard LCD or plasma, Ive got a 42" LED samsung it was £600, which i think is roughly $900 i think well worth it, high quality and beautiful finish literally cant knock it at all.

I have this TV, looks great and so does the picture quality. Extremely thin and is even cheaper than your budget!

^^ Looks awesome. Basically newer/LED version of my 46 Toshiba. I know you wont be disappointed. I'll go bigger when I get a new TV but this one does well for HtPC/ blu-ray.

Honestly? Walk into your nearest Sams Club or CostCo. Discounts are guaranteed, and you get to see the thing in person, and you have a very generous return policy. It's what I did with my 50" LCD and I love it.

No, just no!!!

Sharp has always been crap. Quattron (and 120Hz as well btw) is nothing but a marketing gimmick. Anyway who believes in a Sharp TV has fell for the marketing, pure and simple.

Don't believe me? Then believe a president of a colour calibration company:
