I would like to get some good suggestions for a wireless bridge adapter. Hopefully someone with some experience with multiple routers/adapters can chime in.
Background. Currently I have a WRT54G2 flashed with DD-WRT that is connected to the downstairs router as a wireless repeater/bridge. I use it as a bridge connection/switch for my rig and xbox and the repeater for my laptop. It's on the edge of the G coverage for the downstairs router. My family just got a new E4200 to retire the old linksys G router. So now I have the option to upgrade my connection to N. I play a lot of online games and stream a lot of media so it would nice to take advantage of that.
Mission. I'm looking for an adapter or router than can give me the best connection to the E4200 (450 Mbps capable) on a limited budget of $50.
Currently I'm thinking about getting a Trendnet Adapter and using my G router as a switch for the rig and a repeater for the laptop.
My questions are:
1) Is this a good idea?
2) Are there any unforseen problems with this?
3) Got any better suggestions?
Don't worry too much about the laptop, my main focus is on the rig and xbox. Thanks for any help.
Found a E2000 Refurb so no need for this thread.
