It's always recommended to cook all meat internally to 160F so i suppose as long as you do that you would be fine.

Fear mongering at it's finest! We already know there is harmful bacteria in meat, that is why you cook it and wash up after handling it. I've been to a small local meat locker, after the day is over they pressure wash and clean EVERYTHING.

you still have to handle the meat, if you have a cut on your hand, or touch your face/mouth/eyes during the handling of the "contaminated" meat, you could possibly get infected. as long as you observe good handling procedures (using gloves if you have open cuts on your hands, cleaning the area before/after handling the meat, and washing your hands afterwards, and not touching face/mouth/eyes during handling) you should be good.

"Kill it with fire" comments aside, I don't think it's unreasonable to be concerned about drug resistant bacteria, especially in our food chain. If we loose the ability to contain bacterial outbreaks, it could very well lead to an epidemic down the road that we have no way of fighting.
