Hybrid physx conflicts with 3d mark

Thread Starter
I recently plugged in a 9500gt to run as a dedicated physx card along with my xfire 5850's. For unknown reasons I can only get mod 1.03 to work on my rig... The main question is though, why are all my benchmarks through 3d mark now causing my comp to restart. With 3d 06, 11 and vantage I get through the first couple of tests but when I hit the CPU and operations tests 3d mark either crashes or my comp just restarts.

9500GT is not powerful enough to run physX, it's slowing your entire system down to a crawl.......8800 series and above with 96 Shader Processors minimum

I'm not much of an nvidia person but 9500<8800?

Also why would that cause it to crash

Does 9500 even support Physx? Why the hell do people go around using ****ty lower end cards for physx with their higher end cards? The higher end card you use the better Physx card you need in order to keep up with it. And rule number 2, the better the physx card more your system will gain on a Physx enabled game.

A 9500GT with a GTX480 or HD5850 will slow it down, Minimum for that card will be a GTX260. If you are using a GTX460 then minimum physx card is 9800GTX.. I have used my GTX460 with a 260 for Physx and later the 460 with my SLI 480's.

If you are not an nVidia person why even bother with Physx? there are many woe's of a hybrid setup... do some serious research on Physx before you waste your time with a 9500GT for Physx and a hybrid setup that gives you a bottleneck.

Do it right or dont do it at all..

3DM11 doesn't use physx.

I already had the card from an old system and recently saw that this could be done...

Instead of being an ASS, you could just offer suggestions or say it will lag your system.

I know, I just ran to see if it would cause it to crash also, which it did
