Does the AD700 have any noise canceling?
The 350 had some excellent reviews about its mic/speaker noise canceling. The 360 is too open for noisy environments.
That Zalman mic doesn't have noise canceling does it? I bet it picks up the sound of your computer fans or tv in the background; just like the crappy Logitech desk mics.
The Razer Carcharias are just modified HD555s that sound slightly worse. You should be able to mod them to 595s.
The PC 350 is a modified HD 595. You can mod them as well to improve the sound.
What else is a good LAN gaming headset that blocks out other people and noises around you under $200?

I just recently switched to some 595s with mic and they absolutely destroy the Razers, as will most headphones. However, if you are dead set on a headset; I would recommend the Carcharias from personal experience, also the G35 from what I've heard from others.
The Carharias are just modified 555s. You can mod 555s to 595s so shouldn't you be able to make the Carcharias sound the same?

2) are you willing to pay more money to get poorer quality speakers and mic and and uncomfortable headset in order to get said pre-attached boom mic? - No, what do you consider good for under $200?
3) did you really buy a fancy soundcard to bypass it entirely and use usb crap? - No, cable ties for separate phone/mic cables will do just fine.
