[Cheetahdeals] Acer GD235HZ 3D Monitor (Refurb) $179.55 + shipping - Page 2

I have seen a couple of online stores like Cheetahdeals sprout and disappear. They frequently change their names and fabricate user reviews to both hide and bolster their poor reputation. Stores like these should generally not be trusted.

On the specs, it says that the monitor is factory refurbished with 1 year limited warranty. However, I seriously doubt this is the case. Acer refurbished monitors only come in 3 month limited warranty.

And finally, Acer products need a POP, or invoice for warranty exchanges. Because Cheetahdeals are not on their authorized dealer list, I doubt Acer will accept it.

So just a heads up for those on the fence. I sure was.

The spec looks correct with respect to the warranty. By contract, all Acer, Gateway and eMachines product in the US is refurbished by Seneca Data. The documentation on the refurb warranty is here . Quoting from the warranty "Seneca Distributors, Inc. (“Senecaâ€) warrants the Product you have purchased from Seneca or from an Authorized Reseller in the United States to be free from defects in materials or workmanship under normal use during the Warranty period of 90 days for computer systems and LCD televisions; and 1 year for LCD Monitors."

Bought the last 3. If I don't like them I'll just throw them up on CL or something.

Seeing Red - Like your system specs. Props on the Intel X-25M SSD! I just got a Kingston 96GB SSD I'm looking forward to setting up.

Yeah, my configuration changes more than the weather lol. I got another GTX 480 coming (because of this deal) and possibly a Maximus IV+2500K if that Amazon deal goes through.

Good investment on the SSD, they make a world of difference especially when OCing via the BIOS.

Thread Starter
It is worth checking the site from time to time, because they seem to get some stock in from time to time.

I got mine yesterday, only one bright pixel on one of them and no dead pixels. I'll see if I can fix that today. These were pretty light; all that was in the box was the monitor covered in plastic, 2 foam blocks holding the monitor, and a bag full of cables. Comes with a HDMI cable, DVI cable, power cable, VGA cable, and sound out cable. No manual but you can get that off the Acer website. The colors seems decent for a TN panel, but some calibration is needed. There is some noticeable light bleeding on the bottom edge of all of them.

I can't say I'm satisfied until I get my computer put together and try out the 3D. Now I'm looking for cheap Nvidia 3D Vision kit. The kit itself is almost as much as one of these monitors.

No I would never use 3d, of that I am sure. And one thing is I always use Vysnc that that might defeat the purpose of 120HZ

The price went up to 230$, just fyi. Must have done so today. Wish I could get 3. I am looking everywhere for a 120GHz 22-ish inch screen for about 200-250, so these are still an option when/if I can snag some. If anyone has any site they found some at, let me know.
