2600K @ 4,0GHz + H70 = 45°C idle & 70°C on load

Hi everyone,

Im having a bit of a problem trying to overclock my i7-2600k, im not sure if this is a settings problems on the BIOS or a cooling problem (perhaps my H70 is not working properly)

Im having my 2600k at 4.0Ghz and im getting hight temps (40c idle and 70 when prime95 is running).

Somebody has an explanation or perhaps some tips to hep me out here? Perhaps i need to buy some other cooler?

Thanks in advance.

PD:
here are my current settings and some other screenshots that would help to catch the issue.

Is the pump running at full speed? Which fan header are you using?

Someone had a similar problem and the H70 fans weren't operating at proper speed.

And for the Love of God, DISABLE PLL OVERVOLTAGE! Why are you using that? That's only for multipliers around 48x+, if the CPU fails to POST or hangs with a blinking cursor instead of getting past the windows startup screen. Plus having that enabled plays havoc with sleep mode (though I don't know if it would affect S3 as long as the CPU can start up normally with PLL overvoltage disabled)

I never had any cooling success with those corsair units, but before i blame it, do you have any cheap heatsinks laying around you can try ? might be worth picking up a 212+ for like 20 bucks just to see if its the corsair or not.

You're using a push / pull config, right? Are both the fans facing the right direction? In other words, is the air flow going either <----- or -----> and not ------> <------?
