Hmm I can´t say yes but I don´t wanna say no^^

Look the 570 on its own is a very great performing card, not to mention that it is rampaging in SLI.

But I think there are factors that strongly make it unsuitable for a 3x Monitor setup.
By quoting me you have listed the most valid facts and therefor answered your question.

The VRAM is insufficient for a triple monitor resolution setup even if it is 3x1920x1080.
And the scaling is too poorly performing at least with current drivers to actually be succeed in scalinng 3 monitors properly.

Then there is always the power consumption and heat development....such a setup puts a tremendous amount of stress on the cards which will result in much more heat development and power consumption than with a single monitor setup....and since the cooling isn´t very efficient on the ref cards ..instability could be a result.

You better reread the quote it is much better explained there^^

As for 6990 CF....price lol....power consumption double loool......reference cooling rofl.....performance omg!.....scaling omg?.....FPS so good that it is lol again^^.....

Extreme power consumption, Extreme heat which will cause instability....100% fan and even than very poor cooling efficiency.....performance Extremely good......scaling like all Dual Quad cards......

To sum it up: lol

Does the 570 SLI even stand a chance against 6950 CF?

Lol it´s funny you should ask me that^^

Over 70 pages on that matter
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=6950+vs+570+SLI+ocn.net

But back to topic ..6950 CF will be the best choice

I will get 2x Twin Frozr III since there is just no better version of the 6950 out there.
