MacBook Pro 13" vs ASUS G53

Thread Starter
Ok, so I am considering a new laptop in the near future and looking around. First off, I'm a college student gaming nerd. The computer will be used for primarily for school and music and a few games (so I don't have to drag my sig rig to my buddies house to LAN...such a pain lol). Primarily play SCII, WoW, and Black Ops, max settings isn't a big deal for me on the computer. Speed isn't a big factor in this decision, and since I want to keep the price $1100-$1500 these are my two primary choices. I have been keeping an open mind to getting a mac, I have never owned one. but since I bought a Ipad, and also own an ipod touch, I have become very impressed with apple products and am willing to try a new setup. Comments and input please!!

This is very simple.
If you need a good looking laptop MBP with no doubt

If you need a gaming performance laptop G53 will do better job.

The MBP will be more than fine for SCII, and WoW. I used to be very anti-mac, never understood why so many people bought them like sheep, until I realized all my friends with them who knew 0 about computers had never had a problem, meanwhile computer guru me was dealing with issues monthly with my "powerful windows laptop."

i am writing this from my new, (2010) mbp.

If you're a student in comp. science/engineering you may want to consider the macbook route, Linux works too but Open Office was a deal killer for me after 3 months of linux.

I vote for mac.

And if there are some windows programs you need to use, you can always dual-boot.

OP, before you consider a mac you should find an apple store or someone with OS X. You could even run OS x on your current rig. If you don't like OS X that would defeat the purpose of a macbook pro.

Getting MAC OSX installed on a Windows machine can be very daunting though. Took me 10 hours.

Better than wasting $1500 on an operating system you do not like.
