Completely unimpressed with APEX, and this video doesn't change my view. APEX is a huge performance hog, doesn't work with ATI, and the kicker is it doesn't really look that much better than Havok in Half-Life 2 to my eyes, which is very disappointing to think about.

PhysX never looked real to me, I always preferred Havok. I wish Intel/Nvidia didn't buy up the physics middle-ware and then lock it down to CPU/Nvidia GPUs, physics in games has stagnated because of this.

Not too impressed. Agree with some of the comments about the stuff disappearing. Seems like scripted destruction to me. I hope BF3's Physics are improved from BF2 (Which was pretty neat).

It doesn't matter what it uses, it just how the devs choose to code it, anything can make debris stay, but different methods have different costs

That was disappointing. The destruction was incredibly unrealistic, like with support pillars being destroyed and no cave-in from the ceiling, and debris fading away extremely quickly.
Although, to be fair it's still WIP, so it could change. I thought that Unreal was capable of Ageia Physx though? Surely that would have been more fun to make...

And honestly I could care less about physics unless it has huge impact on the game play. Like more then just destroying cover. I want to tunnel through buildings, make fox holes, collapse buildings/rooms on top of people and crush them, ram a vehicle into a building and have the (assumingly small) building topple over. ETC. Those are just examples for fps games, the possibilities are endless and I hope developers wont waste the tech on purely graphical physics.
This. I thought they meant that geometry/ground was destructible too. I really want a game that features destructible geometry, although I know that you'd need to find some clever way to avoid people digging through the earth.
