While you're at it you should take a look at the vrm temps you get in gpuz sensors.

Temps seem fine to me. I'll run a game here shortly to see how they are.

EDIT: Yeah, they're fine, highest was 56 degrees while I was playing Portal 2. I know it's not a demanding game, but that at least means it's stable.

Hey Lareson, I'm about to buy this card on amazon and am wondering if you can give me a short review of the card. I can see that the card is unlockable. Did you try to fully flash it with the 6970 bios? How's the overclocking after the unlock? I read somewhere that sometimes the non-reference card might unlock but it will act funny and not as good as a reference card. Please let me know your views on the card.

Also... do the card come with a crossfire bridge?

Thanks

thank you so much for the great write up on the card. The card will be there tomorrow and I am a little nervous and excited at the same time. I wish I will get the same card as you or anything that will be able to unlock. Only 15 more hours until I see the fedex truck!!!!

YAY, both of my cards came in today. While this is a non-reference card, I think this card is hard to beat by most of the reference card if all you're thinking about is unlocking the shaders. This card have dual bios and dual fans for those who love to OC. I opened up both boxes and 10 mins later, both of my cards are unlocked by just using the Atiflashtool. Everything was just a breeze to setup it. I even put it in crossfire mode and OCed both to 920/1400 on stock voltage and the temp for the top card is 45 idle while the bottom card is 35 idle. I guess this is because since I am in crossfire mode, the primary card handles all the work while the secondary card is in power saving mode until it is needed. I ran 3dmark11 a few times and noticed that the highest temps on both cards are under 58c. It's weird how the primary card is always 10c higher than the secondary card when in crossfire mode.

I normally do not write review for anything as my english is not that good but if anybody is looking to buy an unlockable 6950, you should hurry up and order it from amazon while this model is still in stock.

^^Hell yes. TI DrMOS fets and dual bios switch, you've got the best of both worlds.

Great to know that it can OC easily and runs Crossfire stably. Will have to try OCing soon!

So it looks like this is the card to beat right now. Cheapest place I've found it on is Amazon for $270, next cheapest is TigerDirect and Buy.com for $275 and for sure not a good deal is NewEgg for $299.
