Sub $200 winner?

So what are your opinions for a $200 range, preferably one that can do hd video. I'm in the market and am trying to keep it affordable.

At that price point, I'd go for the Sony H55 or Panasonic ZS5. Both are excellent cameras and are really neck-and-neck.

Once in a while though you might find the Panasonic ZS7 for sale at that price as well, and I'd definitely jump on it if you do.

Thanks, I might jump on that H55.

I see several models for the "ZS7" such as ZS7K, ZS7S, ZS7R, ZS7A...

Which one do you reccomend?

Just saw the thread title pop up in the recent threads area, and my first thought was, "It can't be done. You can't build a system that cheap." tongue.gif

Good luck on the camera search! Personally, I'd see if you can get a used DSLR for that price... then again, that won't do any kind of video either.

I'm so spoiled by my Canon XTi though. I will often look at a picture I take with it and find little things wrong here and there, and begin to wonder about the quality of the camera. Then I take a look at pictures taken by ANY non-DSLR camera, and just shake my head and laugh. They're still a vast improvement compared to a few years back, but there's just no comparison between DSLR and non-DSLR.

Anyway, I'm not trying to convert you... don't really know why I went there. Again, good luck with the search!

My first DSLR. It treated me very well!

It's np, I used to own a Canon D60 back in 2003 for a month or two until I was robbed in my apartment at gunpoint by strangers.

I would definitely want to get a Rebel (maybe the new EOS T3) at some point for the photographer in me but for now I just need a convenient carry snap shooter.

New it seems about the same price as the ZS7. But doesn't do video? Which is what I'd like as well.
