New rig help!

Thread Starter
I just built a new rig (in my signature), everything looks good in bios, it has every part included. the problem is when i try to install my windows 7 dvd. I burn a windows 7 dvd (X15-65805.iso) from one of the links in slickdeals.net when i got the windows 7 professional deals for $30. I changed my boot order to DVD and then i get this message, "Reboot and Select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot devide and press a key." I don't know what I'm doing wrong.. Please help, any suggestions?

What are the contents of the DVD right now? I mean, is it just "X15-65805.iso"? If so, then we need to extract the contents of this ISO by burning its "image" to the DVD.

If you can do this from within an installation of Windows 7, then just double-click the .ISO with a blank DVD-R in the drive, and the rest should be self-explanatory.

Yep, the contents of the ISO need to be put on the DVD; it's an archive just like a .ZIP file or a .RAR file.

So, what do I need to burn to a DVD? All of the separate files into one DVD? or just some?

All of them. If you leave any of them out, then it would be an incomplete Windows 7 DVD.

What steps did you perform to get 100% of the contents of that .ISO to the DVD?

You will need an ISO burn program. I use magic disk which can be downloaded for free trial.
