Do i just increase the settings by 1 or 2 notches from Auto ? and by notches you mean one + right?

One notch up from the values shown above the settings. The greyed out ones. That is your current Auto settings. Yes, + 1 above. That is the same as loosening them.

70C is as high as you should let the temperature get on a Q6600.

After testing few setups, i think it was the ram that was throwing me off. I'm currently reducing the vcore which was at 1.5v. Now it is down to 1.4v and i'm gonna try to lower it if possible.

I am not a frame rate benchmark maniac. I love playing my games with high quality and descent frame rate (min 35).

Now my questions:

1- What is your opinion regarding my plan? (any opinion is welcome!)
2- If I manage to OC my CPU @ 3.0GHz or higher, could it still become a bottle neck?
Cheers,
Allan.
Hi Allan.
First: You could go under usercp and fill out your system specs. So you don`t need to post it
Second: No bench maniac but crossfire 2 6850s
Third: The upgrade looks nice!
Final:I`m not shure if it 3,0GHz would do the job. But with this cooler you can go for higher clock if needed.

About that RAM, it maybe your mobo is not liking them. However, you could begin to loosen the subtimings.

DRAM tCL
DRAM tRCD
DRAM tRP
DRAM tRAS
DRAM tRFC
DRAM tWR
DRAM tWTR
DRAM tRRD
DRAM tRTP

Try to up all those with bold one notch up from their AUTO setting. If that does not work, try two notches up.

You could also try to up these

DRAM CH0 RCOMP Settings : 54-0-11-6-6-6-6
DRAM CH0 RCOMP ODT [Auto]
DRAM CH0 G0 (Data)
DRAM CH0 G1 (Command)
DRAM CH0 G2 (Control1)
DRAM CH0 G3 (Control2)
DRAM CH0 G4 (Clocks1)
DRAM CH0 G5 (Clocks2)
DRAM CH0 RCOMP Settings : 54-0-11-6-6-6-6
DRAM CH1 RCOMP ODT
DRAM CH1 G0 (Data)
DRAM CH1 G1 (Command)
DRAM CH1 G2 (Control1)
DRAM CH1 G3 (Control2)
DRAM CH1 G4 (Clocks1)
DRAM CH1 G5 (Clocks2)
No luck here... I loosened 2 notches on everything listed here but it still don't post. as far as I know, if i leave the ram at 1333, I was able to reduce my vcore down to 1.35v which maxes out about 66-68c under prime95.

Try loosening these one notch, and one at a time.

You use 2x2GB DDR3 mem?

You could try upping DRAM CH0 tRD and DRAM CH1 tRD to 11, 12 or 13 and so on.. But I doubt it will do you any good. This is RAM's performance Level. With DDR2 they work very well at 10. However, since you are using DDR3, maybe you should try higher.

I actually have a 2x4gb DDR3 mem that runs 1600 9-9-9-24 supposedly at 1.5 Dram voltage. Should I loose all the settings along with DRAM CH0 tRD and DRAM CH1 tRD ?
