Thinking of upgrading...

Thread Starter
From my current rig below.

I'm not sure if I want to wait for bulldozer, I doubt I could afford it though.

The 200$ x6 core are almost breaking my budget (I got the x3 for like 120$) (think the x6 price will drop anytime soon in the next month?)

Not sure if I should upgrade my mobo or not, here: -link- Think it could handle 16GB and a x6 1090T?

I have 4GB ram, I want to max out my ram or get close to it. When I was first building my comp I heard there were issues with more then 2 sticks of ram and overclocking and all that, was pretty confusing to me. But I kinda need alot of ram. Is it possible to have 2 2gb sticks, then 2 4GB sticks?

Mostly want to upgrade for 64bit programs to speed up rendering / preview times and HD video stuff.

What do you guys think?

I got around 250$ to spend

The 2x4gb ram I saw(-link-) was like 85$ lol and I'm guessing the 2x2gb 2x4gb won't work out, so I'll need another pair of it down the road or this
-link-

hey, already up to 390$ damn lol

just save your money and wait to see what happens to prices when bulldozer is released. not very smart planning an upgrade 2 months before prices make a significant drop.

your motherboard will handle the memory and cpu, but I suspect it will not overclock as well as you might hope.

2x2GB/2x4GB will work as long as the RAM runs the same settings (timings/voltage/speed)
