Some advice for my new rig....

Thread Starter
Hi Guys,
I am Dev and I have joined this community a while ago.
I am from India.

I am ready to make a new rig for myself so can you people assist me in building one as I have utmost confidence in guys like you who can really assist well in choosing the right components for me...

I am a Hardcore Gamer and I will buy a rig which is a power house to crush any today's and future dx11 games. I want my rig to be a gaming rig which can provide intense performance and graphical capabilities.

My Budget for my rig is around rs 1,00,000 or $2000.
Thanks Guys,
Dev

Depends if you want amd/intel or nvida/ati

But I would say your going to want a i5 sandybridge rig
or a amd x6 core rig
A nvida gtx470
or a ati ?? I dont know about ati lol

750W Corsair HX
4gb ram or more
win 7 pro
Haf x or the smaller ones if budget is tight
F3 1tb hdd
And (if you have anymoney left over) a sdd, ocz/crucial/munchkin

Thanks for replying,

JUst recently one of my local reseller's manager is my friend's brother, I asked him for suggestion within my budget...
He game me the following specs,
{ I told him that I am only interested in a Intel-Nvidia combination }

Intel Core i5 2500k Quad Core Processor
Asus p8p97 Deluxe Mobo
Nvidia geforce GTX 580
NZXT Phantom Full tower Case
LG or samsung 24" LCD @ 1920x1080
Coolermaster Sentinel advanced gaming mouse
Logitech g15 Gaming keyboard
Corsair 2 x 4gb DDR3 RAM
Corsair H70 Liquid CPU Cooler

Can you please tell me if the above specs are great for gaming or not....
Also can you please explain me what is the bottleneck concept ??

Read these:

They may give you a hint on which way to go.
I would recommend a better case, though. Depends what you need and find most important.

Not bad. I'd go for a SLi build though. Not a single GTX 580. 2x GTX 560's are way more bang for the buck. Eventually get the 2GB versions.

And an XFX 850W Black Edition PSU. Modular, perhaps.
Of all the reviews I've seen, it beats the Corsair ones in the same prize range.

Also, a bottleneck is when a lesser powerful components does not deliver sufficient power to a more powerful components and thereby making the powerful components perform worse than it's maximum capability.

Let's say you have an AMD Athlon x2 as well as a GTX 590. Then your CPU will definitely bottleneck your GPU in games. Which means you will have lesser FPS than other owners of a GTX 590 with a proper CPU.

The key is to somewhat balance those components, if you only use it for gaming.

If you've bought an i7 990X with a Radeon HD 4650, then you have spent way too much on the CPU which you could have used to buy a far better graphics card.

So you are telling that 2 x GTX 560 Ti in SLI will be better than a single GTX 580 ?? Are you sure ?? If yes, I will follow your advice...

Check out a few reviews. That would be a much more reliable source.

However, I am certain.
Perhaps you can even get 2x GTX 570's if you find them cheap (rabate etc.)
