Except they aren't. A lot of people earn steady money playing online poker. I deposited $40 5 years ago and have only cashed out since. What am I, the lucky recipient of hundreds of bank errors?

2. Online poker is as about as good of an investment as Farmville. If you want to gamble, go to a bloody casino.
Really? I'll remember that the next time my woman gets in her new car or puts on her favorite diamond necklace, both paid with online poker winnings.

I do not understand why people think something is a scam because they suck at it. I can't last 60 seconds in a competitive online FPS - OMG RIGGED!!!11

Well said.

Just because someone sucks at Online Poker, does not make these sites a scam. It just means YOU G33K suck at poker, period.

Amazing how much of a stigma poker still has, especially online. I've been an online player for a little over 2 years and I wouldn't have my new truck if it weren't for the work and time I put into the game.

I know a guy that I used to work with that made anywhere from 1-10 K a month on the side playing online poker.

Sure you win some and you lose some, but it is not like you are in a Casino where the odds are always against you, you are playing other people. When the online poker (and Texas holdem in general) was at its height, there was tons of people coming and throwing money into online gambling, and many of them hardly even knew how to play. Imagine being an game Ace and pwning noobs, except you get real money instead. Sure most people start off playing the small tables, but it is still easy money. A lot of the newbs try out the bigger tables too soon, which even better for the Aces.

Anyway you look at it, online poker makes a lot of people a lot of money, and the gov will do whatever they can to get their cut or shut it down.

Are there still any relatively big poker sites I could sign up for to play in the U.S?

I'm not too bad it..
