SSD = PSU coil whine

post #1 of 3
Thread Starter
Long shot, I been having coil whine issues on my PSU for ages, changed everything & now found out when I changed my SSD to an old HD is my SSD causing the whine, whenever 3d apps are open.

Would be a near silent PC without this so can really bug.

Anyone had similar.. or got any solutions?

Sometimes videocards emit a whine from their capacitors when under load.

Fire up ATItool and see if the noise is pronounced.

I thought was the card, but is definitely the SSD causing the PSU to whine. I have messaged OCZ support, but doubt they will RMA the drive.

Wouldnt mind upgrading to a vertex 3 even tho OCZ are jokers.. might try another SSD.
