Help Get me Stable!

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
I am running stable at

3.6ghz @1.392v
260x14

HT- 2080mhz
NB-2080

Ram is at 1040
@2.1v

Got 6MB L3 Cashe up and running as well.

My ram is rated at 1066 and I can achieve this with 265 on 265x14. I become unstable and crash even with 1.4v. My temps are good at 100% load about 48c average. Anyone have some pointers on trying to get it stable at 3.7?

With the RB-C2 revision chips as well as the fact that you locked cache is going to require far more voltage than just 1.39v. I suggest 1.425v around there as you starting point. Make sure you have sufficient cooling as well. Also, try raising your NB to around 2400-2600MHz and increase the CPU/NB voltage to 1.3000v. Come back after you've tried those steps.

Yup, more volts. My 955 is essentially a higher binned version and I can just do 3.6 at 1.38v. Need 1.4v to keep it stable for power dips.

volts volts volts

Highly doubt your NB will do 2600. The guy above is spoiled with his Thuban. RB-C2 x4s don't like much over 2400. Every rare once in a while you'll see a c2 955 do 2600... on 1.35v+... In this case, you've done it right, keep that NB at about 2000 plus or minus until you've found your core limit.

run your nb right up to 2650. a phenom2 can do it most of the time on stock/auto volts.
my unlocked and overclocked 720 be @ 3.2 is essentially a 955. i can hit 2700 nb stable on auto volts. i have yet to read someone not being able to hit 2600. others that cant hit probably have a clock speed to high to reach it. best bet for performance on that issue is drop the cpu speed 100-200mhz and raise the nb speed. its more important than a higher clock speed on the cpu.
