Should I buy a $10.40 bolt thru kit (1156) for my Xigmatek DK or just buy another heatsink and sell this one?

BTW it's W not V for my cooler.

The DK is a very good cooler. The pricing isn't that bad for the bolt thru kit. Newegg has it for $9.99, so not much difference. Hope this helps and good luck!

Just clean the heatsink itself and buy the bolt-thru kit. It should make a difference in temperatures.

Get the kit. Got one for my Vendetta 2 way way back and it did wonders.
The DK is a fairly decent cooler, just clean it a bit, slap on a high cfm fan and you're good to go.

But I have already cleaned it...

That's the clean condition. I really hate how it looks and I don't know how to clean it asides from using a blower, alcohol and cleaning cloth.

Soak it in vinegar to get a lot of the oxidation off, then rinse with water and then rub down with alcohol for a sheen.

If that is not dust, then just repaint it with heat resistant paint.

I just got the ACK-I5361 Xigmatek Bracket kit attached to mine, but I must forwarn you. Make sure you put some electrical tape on where the bracket touches the mobo, otherwise you may get the same issue I did....NOTHING happened after I installed it...push power button and NOTHING!!! It seems that the backplate was actaully touching the mobo tray and causing a direct short. I went a little overboard and put strips of electrical tape on the front and back of the mobo and on the underside of the backplate....now, I'm running a cool 4.5ghz at 61ºC w/10 passes of IBT

I already ordered a bolt through kit. Hopefully my temps would be satisfactory
