Catalyst CC & Drivers kill my windows Install

Puling my hair out guys.

Basically, I have a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit, after a formatted, clean drive.

Once I install, it will boot up and run in some tiny res. as per normal and all is fine whilst I download and install the ATI drivers. Install's fine, then asks for a reboot.

Once it starts up again, windows will have its little splash screen animation whilst it starts, then the desktop background appears (like normal prior to the desktop/password screen appearing) and thats it, it will just sit at the background not doing anything. It's not a freeze as such, because ctrl+alt+del makes the screen black out, and sometimes the mouose pointer appears and sometimes it doesn't...

I can run in safemode and everything is working fine in there.

I have tried 11.3, 11.2, 11.1 drivers (I'm sure I was using 11.1 prior to this new installation and was working ok before) and even tried the 32 bit drivers. I have also re-installed windows in between each time

Can anyone help me frown.gifconfused.gif

I noticed that your 6950 is unlocked, perhaps it's not stable? Have you tried to boot with its in the stock bios? Is this the first time you use your unlocked 6950?

Was always ok unlocked but since the first instance I had this problem I have tried with the stock bios.

I'm sure it's something to do with the driver, because as soon as it goes on, it causes a problem, just wondering if there is something I can do about it
