I was thinking that too, but I wasn't sure.

My GTX 570 just died. The voltage was at 1.063, the core at 900mhz and the memory at 2100. It happened while I was playing crysis 2. Now I'm using my old 8800gt.

Basically if it looks like this, it's not a reference design.

You linked GTX 470

Here is mine,(note that I said GTX 580), and it is Reference, even though Gigabyte changed the PCB color.

And if you look at the GTX 570 list, you find the Gigabyte GTX 570 OC Windforce X3 is Reference too, even though its blue.

It seems I was wrong. I figured Gigabyte's WindorceX3/OC line for 570/580 would also be non-reference, but it seems to be using the 4phase power design like a reference card. Wonder why they didn't use their own PCB design..

Weak VRMs on the 570, it can't handle extra voltage well. Get the ASUS one.

Edit: I forgot that I bumped it up again, Just Cause 2 was giving me crashes to desktop. It's at 1.025v now. Played it for 4 hours today with no problems at all.

To Ramsey77, for how long have you got the card?

If ,after I RMA it, the second card works fine with stock clocks and voltage will it be necessary to change it? I saw a bios update for the card on gigabyte's website. Also, I asked the same question on the gigabyte forum and they said that it wasn't like that with every card, just some of the factory overclocked don't work fine.

Today I went to the shop to RMA it. And they gave me an AMD HD 6850 until mine arrives. I'm still gonna be able to play crysis 2 or metro 2033.
