However, if you make the assumption that the tops of the pins/channels have no flow and being the lowest temperature point on the block, transfer effectively no heat; the pins will have an extra mm^2 per pin on the floor of the block, which will transfer more heat since it's closer to the heat source.
Enter the world of 3d thermodynamics modelling and can't be bothered...
I think the pins would, on paper, outperform the channels, but as you've rightly said, it's potentially a lot more work for not a lot of gain ~ I'll consider channels.
To be honest, once I get my aluminium, I think I'll experiment a bit with it, I mean once I plate the aluminium in copper even, I'll need to corrosion test that before I'd consider putting it in a loop.Edited by Crabid - 4/16/11 at 3:45pm
