New build, need psu

Ok, looking for a bit of advice on a new build. I have two reference 6950's inbound for it, am am planning (6 month or so) to go quad. My plans are to to thow them on a R3E mobo an in a HAF x case. The processor will be either a 980 or 990 (i want to stay with the 1366 chip).

The question I have is, what PSU is out there that will run 4 gpu's without having to get adapters for the power heads. I'm also thinking of running me gtx 280for physix (using an old driver?).

Although i'm gonna run on air at first, I do plan on moving into water cooling im the future. Same with oc'ing. Gonna start in small steps at first, so the psu will need to support. (Water coolong will most likely be mostly external).

Before someone asks, 'why?'. Im currently an elex tech with the navy and this machine will serve a couple of purposes... It will be a retirement gift to myself, gives me something familiar to tinker with after retirement, and will last a long time into the future. I also do some high end video (family stuff) and the extra power would be nice.

I originally planned just an upgrade, but I think the ild macine will work well for the kids when they get old enough.

Thanks in advance

For running 4 gpu these three psu are the best:
1> silver stone strider 1500
2> corsair ax1200
3> antec high current pro 1200
Hope u like my suggestion

I second the Corsair AX1200. You can't beat the efficiency and performance of that unit anywhere.

I'd suggest making a post about power supplies in the power supply sub-forum. Might seem crazy . There are regulars there who know a lot about power supplies who might not check here as frequently.

Well, navigating via DROID, I didn't see. Thanks, and I'll repost there.

I will third the corsair ax1200. I built two client's systems with it, and ordered one for me.

Long cables, superb performance and a great price/performance ratio! Only downside is it's a ***** to sleeve!
