But hey, a 400MHz bump, that doesn't even need a voltage rise nor a cooler swap, is a good trade-in.

If my X6 that clocks like crap (1010BPMW, first batch that ever went to production) does it with below stock voltages, that 550 will do it aswell.
I got my x6 down to 1.186v-1.2v @ 3.1 GHz, which I thought was ok but I have owned this 1055T since early December last year and either I have been to lazy or I haven't needed to overclock it any more.

OP give it a bit of juice, a gentle tap like in "Happy Gilmore" up it a bit and call it a day.

Playing Solitaire is a far cry from crysis II so I think that they will not notice the performance difference in the real world.

If you really want to OC, get it as far as you can go on stock voltage I'd say, unless they have serious performance need.

I tested at these volts/clocks for 5 hours before this, but stopped to get dvd playback working and to ensure it worked better than at stock in Zuma's Revenge (lol no joke it would freeze a bit during loading and during gameplay).

CPU 1.283, LLC was used to keep the vdroop under control.
CPUnb 1.3v
Ram 1.95v

Overall the system feels pretty snappy even though it only has 1gb of ram, I used a custom trimmed down version of XP I made and overall I'm pretty pleased with it. For another $17 I ordered another stick of 1gb, I don't think they'll need a 4gb kit for 32 bit xp 2gb should work fine and give them dual channel performance.

I'll see how it goes, if she has problems I can always test it a bit more while doing some other work around the house (I gotta paint the house in a few weeks anyways).

Nothing drastic, but I wanted it to smoke the celeron dual core laptop I gave them awhile back. And for it to provide enough performance they won't feel its slow for awhile.

If you want an Xp 64-bit to throw in there if you have the software. I have a copy of it that I possibly never use just PM me and I'll give you the code key.
EDIT
If you the software too. Just pay shipping.

Haha, thanks for the offer but I've never had anything but driver issues with 64 bit XP

Besides I think her max ram is going to be 2gb so the loss of .5 from a 4gb isn't a factor here.

Woah I can't type tonight!
