New AMD Build - $500 Budget - Page 2

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-193-_-Product this is a good board, but won't be having bulldozer compatibility.

If you are willing to upgrade easily to bulldozer, then you need an asus 890FX board or wait a little for a gigabyte 870 with black socket. I know the 880g is already in newegg, so the 870 should be available soon.

The asus 890FX board that I have is priced almost the same as the 890gx version. There are big differences, 8+2 vs 6+2. Quite crappy design as well in my case, I had to attach two 60mm fans to work fine @4GHz. The vrm gets too hot and it lowers cpu voltage along with cpu multiplier. Of course my h70 is part responsible, I'm going to do a mod these days and put the radiator outside to go further than 4GHz.
Never thought of myself as a punk, I'm too old for that word.

It must be awesome to have the expertise to understand cooling. As weird as this might sound, I really wish I had a mentor or a friend to learn from.

Sorry man, didn't tried to bother you.
I'm a happy biostar user, so that 890fx board should be fine for you, unless you want bulldozer support. I wanted that board for myself, but it's not available in my country.

Looks like there's quite a bit of temperature problems with it running too hot...

Some users says that the bios is horrible. To be honest a bios as easy as in asus boards, does not exist. The price is very attractive, but if you think you will be having problems with bios then you need a gigabyte with black socket or my board.

You have a HAF932, so you will be fine.

I like that line "lacking intelligence at the most basic human level."

Only because who determins basic? What type of intelligence? Human, are we nonhuman? What level is it, level 3 or 20?

Makes me crack up.

Overall it looks like my choices are solid but my hardware doesn't end up being that way and I get a case of bad luck every chance I can get.
