I don't know how to do this in Crysis 2 (or if it's even possible). So now I just use programs like Afterburner or Precision.

Like TwoCables said, Afterburner will work great, but I myself recommend Fraps. While Afterburner updates once every second, Fraps updates on the spot, it shows FPS fluctuations and everything that might happen to your FPS. I say give both Fraps and Afterburner a shot.

Afterburner's polling interval/period/rate can actually be configured to be whatever you want it to be. The default is 800ms.

Supposedly Afterburner has more of a performance hit compared to Fraps, just worth noting.
