Guns look further away?

Thread Starter
I've seen a few videos about Counter Strike and Call of Duty recently and have noticed on the PC versions, the guns seem to be further away from the screen than usual? I mean like, you can see some of the characters arm, but I can't...

I can't really explain what I mean, I'm trying to think of a word for it... I guess 'depth perception' makes sense, but I dunno...

What I would like to know is what this is called and how can I go about making it look like my gun is further away from me? Thanksssss.

It's called FOV. The higher the FOV, the more you see. The gun looks further away and sometimes you can see more of the characters arms.
