That is a good point, but it's a CM 690 II Advanced. It definitely has a hole specifically for a PSU inlet at the bottom of the case. The ones that don't have that opening also don't have the screw holes that would allow it to be mounted fan down anyway.

Thank you for the information. I was not aware that case had some sort of support for PSU's within this position of the fan facing down. Worth a try turing the PSU over so the fan faces upwards. The noise could be brought on by a lot of vibration and surface contact with inproper cooling.

All of the current CoolerMaster cases with a bottom mounted PSU have this. In fact it's quite rare for a case to NOT have that opening these days. The only ones I know of are some of the Antecs, but there might be a few others. I know the NZXT's, Corsairs, and Lian Li LanCools have the opening. In fact, due to the mounting strap the LanCool's uys you either mount them fan down or block a significant portion of the fan with the mounting strap. Some of the Corsar cases have panel above the PSU that would also block the fan if mounted fan up.

Thanks for the info again. I had never really truly noticed this feature, however i have seen it. When i built my PC into the HAF-X, my mind just controls my hands and puts the PSU top side up.

It's nothing to worry about i don't think. Just a silly capacitor. However if it's bothering you or you feel it's unsafe, i would try and return it.
