Just what I though
6770 is a re-branded 5770 and sold as OEM.
Driver support is and always has been AMD's responsibility NOT
Pffffff..... you can't be serious. Use your braincells and re-read what you just wrote.
Do you think it's OK for XFX, or any other vendor for that matter, to put a card for sale at retail stores without assuring there are drivers for it ?
More, shouldn't the drivers come with the card ?!?!? In a driver CD, just like every other vendor
? Don't tell me, now people are obliged to have internet access to install a piece of hardware. Because that is what the CD that comes with the card does: it contains no drivers, instead an executable that directs you to the AMD site.
Of course XFX knew they couldn't sell the card YET, AMD didn't even give them drivers for retail now, because it's not supposed to be sold at retail, It's supposed to come pre-installed in OEM PC's. And since XFX doesn't make OEM PC's, they still weren't given the drivers, because the card is not supposed to come out at retail YET.
This is XFX's fault. They knowingly hurried the release of the card without AMD's authorization. The fact the card doesn't come with drivers but instead a CD with an executable that connects to the AMD site, is more than proof XFX screwed up. They knew there weren't any drivers, else they would have put them on the CD. Instead they throw the blame to AMD with that program that connects to the AMD site. And you fell for that.Edited by tpi2007 - 4/17/11 at 10:14am
