It has nothing to do with "Wanting to do it" and everything with doing your job in a responsible and professional manner.
Phaedrus said he was working with Server 2008 R2. That doesn't mean it was a server, but thats what I think when I see server 2008 R2. Then again most of the money I make is based in IT and Server work, so I put a premium on stability rather than ghetto rigging to get my way with something.

That being said I agree with Phaedrus. And im sickened by this.
I just called my Local BB to complain (nicely) and the geek squad member I talked to spoke to me like I was 2. "Its on the shelf so its supposed to be sold" etc.

It's XFX's fault for the simple reason this card was never *meant* to be sold at retail. Did you even read the OP?

XFX: Hardly playing.

Phaedrus: Definitely contact the BBB. They've helped me in the past.

What are you talking about ? Read Phaedrus' post again. People come here arguing without reading the posts properly...

He wanted to turn a copy of Windows Server 2008 R2 into a free copy of Windows 7. That assumes he will not be using it in a corporate environment, but at home. The rock stability requirement is not exactly the same.

Students can get Windows Server 2008 R2 for free. I wanted to cheap out and use it in place of Windows 7. Not a server at all.

I bought the xfx 6770 at best buy and had the same prob. could not install drivers then best buy told me it's my fault had to drive 50 miles to get to best buy now I have to drive 50 miles back to return it and when I told best buy about this and asked them if I could get a discount on another card they said no they don't do that and the 25$ to 30$ I spent on gas not including all day screwing around with this card was my problem best buy is a joke and they just lost me as a costumer Newegg is better and cheaper anyway. I truly hate best buy over this crap

I look forward to hearing the result of your call to AMD, Phaedrus. Several BBs having the same card on their shelves? Something really stinks here...
im curious if Bestbuy didn't jump the gun on selling this card.

I only say this because I was able to purchase the 4850 from bestbuy 2 weeks before it was officially launched back in 2008.
