I've lived 39 years and never been hit by a tsunami. I guess people only die in tsumanis in movies, huh?

Are you drunk, dude or are you just being a smartass? Maybe you actually bought stock in XFX or something...can't believe your inability to see the forest from the trees...

Yep, I'm sorry I reversed the polarity on that generator that exploded and set your house afire and killed a 2 year old toddler and critically burned your wife! It was just an honest mistake from too little sleep. People are human, they make mistakes! I'm sorry! I'll pay for the kid's funeral! (meanwhile, he goes and enjoys his own wife and kids..completely safe to anything in the "real" world).

/sarcasm (not directed at your post btw).

Sometimes, mistakes can cause VERY SERIOUS PROBLEMS. It can even get people KILLED. Some mistakes are simply inexcusable. Especially when a company refuses to take responsibility for it and blames someone else. And boy, we see that kinda stuff CONSTANTLY--on a weekly basis!

I truly hate best buy over this crap
Contact your credit card company and reverse the charges. Not only do you get your money back, you MIGHT even get to keep the card in the end, as well (then offload it on ebay or something).

NEVER pay cash for anything, anymore, except groceries. Paying cash just screws you over--EVERY time.

These companies hate dealing with banks.

That's disappointing. I was going to call today, too.

Who did you speak to? Did you just get brushed off by the desk clerk, or?

The problem here is Best Buy. They are selling the cards before they are meant to. You're using this as another excuse to bash XFX.

I wish people would stop believing everything one user says and get some hard facts. I've searched this same topic on google, and every conclusion has been that Best Buy is selling the cards early. It's their fault. If the cards aren't officially released yet, why would the drivers be available? I have links too:

Evil Bestbuy at it again slapping new stickers on 5770s, lol.

But your problem could just be that, technically the 6770 isn't released yet for retail. If this is indeed the case, flashing the BIOS to a 5770 would work, or wait until it finally launches with new drivers.

But IMO, just return it and get this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] -_-Product
Much better card for the money.

You stop recommending their power supplies, which are exceptional, because they change things on their video cards? They changed the PCB's because TI couldn't get the parts, for the 69xx series. People are expecting a product. So they improvise until the reference models are available. Again, the web stores are at fault for not updating their info. XFX surely updated theirs, because it said V1.1 on the sticker, didn't it?

XFX didn't choose to stop selling Nvidia cards, Nvidia decided to stop supplying them for the major markets. You'll notice in my system specs that I have an XFX fermi card. They are in fact making them, it's just they are not being sold in the American market.

The amount of ignorance people post without stopping to think is appalling.

Furthermore, The CD that came with my card DID infact have drivers on it, it didn't access the internet at all. If anyone is to blame here, it is AMD for making it hard to get their drivers, and Best Buy for selling the cards early.

We also don't know what AMD and XFX say to each other. From memory, XFX is the latest company to sell their cards, so AMD could have given them exclusive rights to sell 6770's in retail. But the thing is: We don't know. And posting ignorant crap isn't going to help.

I think he meant the bank for the credit card charge reversal.

Have you called AMD yet to let them know about what's going on with the cards?

How is it Best Buys fault for selling it? Shoot the sender much?

XFX Shouldn't be releasing as they damn well know, Drivers are NOT out yet..

How is it AMD's Fault? They can't create a Driver for a card they dont't know has been released for the public?

Yes I am using Ignorance to take the blame of ATI but how are they suppose to know..

How did XFX even get them in the first place beats me...

Companies always ships products early. The place that sells them is not meant to sell them until they are released.

How do you think these places get their stock? It's the same with games as well. The disc are made and shipped weeks before release. Same goes for hardware. Made, packaged and shipped well before release.

Blame Best Buy for having the cards on the shelf. AMD is obviously making the drivers.

As for the disc: How are the drivers meant to be on the disc if they don't exist yet?

AMD are at fault for not having drivers ready this close to release, and Best Buy is at fault for having the cards on the shelf.

You guys are blaming the OEM who brands the card, when they are not at fault.
