Phaedrus, are you going to continue your XFX hate?
For your earlier questions, this was the first XFX product I've bought. Before I was ambivalent. After this experience, not so much. And by the way, at this point you're just trolling.

Also, if the driver CD supposedly worked for Mr. XFX rep here, why didn't it work for me, or the 2-3 other people who've gone to forums complaining that their 6770 drivers won't install?

And the guy who called AMD claims that they are not releasing the HD6770 to retail. I'm going to call and find out myself.

EDIT: Which AMD office should I call? The California one?

I'm not trolling. I have owned many XFX products. You have owned one, yet you hate them and hated them before that. You didn't own said products so what right do you have to criticise them?

I'm guessing you auto-played the CD? Did you try browsing it and searching for a proper installer? I'm not being an arse, just asking.

Good call. Try which ever is their main office?

I am just a normal support rep so I have no contacts at AMD. I can only assume that their normal support reps may not have been updated on this yet but I have no idea.

All that I did was pull two of those models out of stock and open the packaging and run the discs. They definitely did work for me. If you are having any problems with them then it could be a bad disc. The drivers for XP were right in the \\Drivers\\Win7_Vista and \\Drivers\\WinXP folders. I ran the normal autorun and it installed when I selected the install drivers from disc option. If you would like to PM me your contact information or put in a support ticket for our support staff we would have no issues sending you a new disc of they are available at the links that I posted or on our site in the product pages.

Just like the Japanese tsunami...oh that never happened....that only happens on movies...right? right?
Guess with the XFX Tech posting, you'll admit its not a scam and it seems human error's involved here?

somehow I doubt guy with 11k posts on OCnet can't find a driver on CD,
but if so go killurself

oh and... so much for the theories of BB going rogue...

Also, in Logistics, you ship products to distributors months in advance to ensure their logistics chain has enough time to ship out the products to their retail stores.

In this case, XFX would ship hundres of these Video cards to Bestbuy's Regional Distribution facilities. Bestbuy's internal Logistics dept would then decide when to arrange shipments to their local stores.

XFX doesn't make delivery directly to the bestbuy local store. So yes this card was probably released too early, but i'd say its Bestbuy's Regional distribution's fault for jumping the gun and sending out the card to their local stores.

Try to understand all possible scenarios before just jumping on the XFX bash wagon.
was reading a Portal 2 thread on Reddit.com, and someone mention Target's register will refuse to sell you an item whose release date isn't met

For Best buy, he said that those items would have SKU and price tags of $10,000...

so still, BestBuy and/or XFX dropped the ball, either at communicating the release date or lack of communication and BB goes to sell it

that saying, I went to BB 1.5 weeks ago and saw the 6770/6750. didn't make a big note of it since i havent kept up with GPU releases

EDIT(was on page 10 when i posted... saw the XFX rep post just now)

how about Linux/FreeBSD drivers per the box?
