Dinosaurs were discovered in 1822 but if you look there are some pretty precise drawings and descriptions from long before that. How could have they known? Kind of intriguing. It was a little religious and preachy for my taste but they made some valid points.
Such as the radiometric dating. How can we be totally sure that this is accurate?
Dinosaurs might have officially been discovered in the early 1800s, but did you ever stop and think that is just the time frame when we had scientists capable of actually understanding what the fossils were? That early humans had seen dinosaur fossils and imagined them as dragons?
Heck, the cyclops of greek mythology might have been based off of the fossils of prehistoric dwarf elephant skulls as they were skulls roughly twice the size of a human skull and had a large, centralized socket (which was really the nasal cavity for the trunk) that could have been interpreted as a large single eye socket.
