[Help] New rig need help to choose cooling - Page 2

Corsair make some good watercooling systems like the H60, H70 and the H50 and 2 120mm fans for the rad... being unrealistic if noise isn't a problem then 2 delta fans would go.

They do come with nice fans. but they are stupid huge. Stock fans will not fit in my case, with my mobo and ram set up. they just will not fit. Would have to remove the side pannel for the center fan to fit, and the ram or MOSFET would have to go to fit a second fan.... so that may be a problem. if you need to nab fans, then treat it like any other cooler, you'll have to pick between noise/CFM output but its pretty easy. I have a San Ace 1011 zip tied to mine in the center for now

I would still suggest the Antec 902 with 2 good quality 120mm fans. More clean and compact, easy to install, performance every minute of the day.

It will sound like a small jet engine. I had 2 on my NH-D14.

May be true, but it sucks like the rest of the generic water cool setup. A mugen 2 with 2 fan will out perform them.

Thread Starter
well i guess ill go for silver arrow, i am not really into water cooling since a few reviews i read said that air cooling is better, with the HAF 912 i think it wont be a problem to mount ir right? it haves a LOT of space

No. Just the pre-built that sucks. A true water cooling kit like Rasa 240 is better than any air cooler by about 10c.

There are 2 catagorys of coolers IMO.
1.Real water cooling
2.Air cooling/passive heatsinks/H50/60/what ever other hybrid water cooler.

Reason being is the H coolers from corseair the antec ones, you name it fail in compaison to a Full water cooling system, heck some air coolers beat them out now.
Hybrid water coolers are best suited where space is tight. But this is all just my own here-say
A good friend of mine(loune on here) swears by his H50w AP-30's on it in a CM690IIAD...its not exactly quiet, but it dose cool nicely lol

It's not so much as they suck, but they fill a niche. A very simple niche: a person with no space for big air cooling, as well as being able not to bother with the maintenance of real water cooling. Can they perform better, everyone would love it if they could beat top end air cooling or even match real water, but they won't. And even if they did, count on the manufacturers to price them excessively high.
